An alternative to purchasing an airplane is buying a fractional piece of it. Fractional plane ownership is an arrangement where multiple owners share the cost of purchasing and operating an aircraft. Typically, a typical share is 1/16 (6.25% / 37.5 hours), 1/8 (12.5% / 75 hours), 1/4 (25% / 150 hours), or 1/2 (50% / 300 hours)* of the total cost of the aircraft you purchase. Each owner is allocated a set number of hours to fly the plane each year. All costs associated with the aircraft are then divided amongst all owners. This arrangement makes owning an aircraft more manageable. *Based on 600 hours of flying time a year.
